What is the difference between Timepal and Timepal Pro?
The main difference is the functionality to track time automatically. We call this feature Auto-tracking. The rest of the features are identical and have the same high standards that we try to bring into our apps. With this separation, we want to make the pricing model more flexible and provide our customers the option to pay for what they need. With time more PRO features will be added to Timepal Pro.
What is auto-tracking and how can it improve my daily work?
Auto-tracking will start the timer for you without taking away your control over it. You just need to define a few rules for Timepal Pro by which it will be guided. After that, Timepal Pro will work completely autonomous — start and pause the timer depending on your behavior. Please write us an email if you've experienced issues with it.
Can I still use Timepal Pro after my 1-year license ends?
Yes. Timepal Pro will continue to work without any limitations — this is our promise to you. But for us to ensure the future development of the app, we can't provide you with further updates from that point on. We are giving an update option which you can purchase for $24.99 and get a 1-year worth of updates.
When can I cancel my subscription and what will happen to my data?
You can cancel your subscription at any point. Just open your license information inside the app and click on "Manage Subscription". After your license becomes invalid, you still will be able to export your data as a CSV-file.
Why can't I purchase Timepal Pro on the Mac App Store?
The Mac App Store guidelines have certain limitations which make it impossible for us to deliver you the auto-tracking functionality. Write us an email if you have further questions regarding this topic.
Why doesn't auto-tracking start the tracking of time?
We've thoroughly tested Auto-tracking, but as this is a feature which can be configured in different ways, some problems may occur. Please write us an email if you have issues with Auto-tracking, we are more than happy to support you. Your feedback helps us to continue improving the feature.
Can you access my data?
No. Your data belongs to you and is stored only on your machine. If you have purchased Timepal Pro, the only thing we get is your email and app-license information. That is only used to link your license to your email. We take privacy very seriously and will never misuse your trust in us.
Can I create billable projects?
Not yet. We acknowledge that this is an important part of time tracking and plan to deliver this functionality in the future.
Can I export Timepal data to other services?
Timepal and Timepal Pro provide the possibility to export a CSV-file which can be imported into other apps and services.
Can I install Timepal Pro on multiple Macs?
When you purchase Timepal Pro, your license entitles you to use the app on one computer only. If you have multiple Macs, you need to purchase a new license for each device.
